With generations of artists in her family, Kelly Mason Fielden’s path to painting came naturally. She studied studio art at UNC Chapel Hill and UNC Greensboro before earning her BA in Studio Art from the University of Maryland, with a concentration in abstract oil painting.
Now based in Annapolis, Maryland, Kelly draws inspiration from the serene beauty of the coast as well as the traditional chinoiserie motifs that filled her mother’s and grandmother’s homes. Her abstract coastal works and florals blend color, movement, and tradition, with her floral paintings serving as a meaningful tribute to the women who inspired her.
